ADMISSION PROCEDURES

Application Process for International Students

Applying to BAU International University Batumi is a breeze with our user-friendly online portal: https://bauglobal.secure.force.com/applybat

During the registration process, you’ll input your personal information and upload the necessary documents. Required documents include:

For Freshman Students:

  • High school graduation diploma or GCE A levels
  • Academic transcripts
  • Passport copy
  • Internationally recognized English Language Certificate (if available, minimum B2 level)
  • Turkey National Exam Certificate (for Turkish citizens pursuing Medicine program or Dentistry) or National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) for Indian citizens

 

For Transfer Students:

  • Transcripts from previous universities
  • Passport copy
  • Internationally recognized English Language Certificate (if applicable, minimum B2 level for non-English programs) If you’re awaiting final documents, submit a statement of predicted grades to proceed with your application on a conditional basis. Official transcripts must be provided upon receipt. Following submission of your online application, expect to receive evaluation results and a Conditional Acceptance Letter within 2 days.

Upon receiving the Conditional Acceptance Letter, promptly submit a non-refundable application fee of 500 USD within 5 days. Once payment is received, we initiate the process of foreign education recognition and enrollment procedures in tandem with the Ministry of Education of Georgia. This process typically takes up to 3 weeks. After receiving confirmation from the Ministry, we issue the Final Enrollment Document, crucial for visa application (if applicable).

Upon enrollment at BAU International University Batumi, students must undergo academic and financial registration at the Student Support Center before the start of the academic semester, with registration dates outlined in the Academic Calendar.

Application Process for Georgian Citizens

Georgian citizens are admitted to BAU International University Batumi through the Unified National Exams. Mandatory subjects include Biology, Georgian Language, and English Language, with optional exams in Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics (25% competency level).

Upon successfully passing the Unified National Exams, the University Rector issues an enrollment order, acting as the final acceptance document. Academic and financial registration at the Student Support Center is mandatory before the academic semester begins.

Required documents for Georgian citizens include the original high school graduation diploma, exam certificates, biometric photos, and military duty certificates (for males). Tuition fee payment bank receipts are also necessary.

THE LEVEL OF COMPETENCIES FOR MANDATORY EXAMS FOR 2022 ARE AS FOLLOWS:

  • Biology- 30%;
  • Georgian Language-30%;
  • English Language-70%;

Georgian students enrolled at BAU International University, Batumi via Unified National Exams can benefit from State Grants that will be deducted from the tuition fee. After successfully passing the Unified National Exams University Rector signs the order on a candidate’s enrollment to an appropriate faculty and specialty that acts as a final acceptance document. Students are required to go through academic and financial registration at the Student support center before the Academic semester starts. Registration dates are defined by Academic Calendar.

THE STUDENTS SHOULD PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:

  • Original high-school graduation diploma;
  • Certificate of passing the unified national exams;
  • 4 biometric 3×4 photos;
  • Military duty certificate or proof of registration for military service (for males only);
  • Tuition fee payment bank receipt;

Citizens of Georgia who have completed secondary education abroad are enrolled at BAU International University, Batumi through the admission procedures set for International students.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Since all of our programs are fully taught in English, we require proof of your language skills. If your language skills are at B2 level or above, one of the following language test certificates and scores can be accepted for your application:

  • TOEFL (iBT 79);
  • IELTS 6.5 (Acad.);
  • FCE B;
  • YDS 80;
  • Pearson PTE Acad. 78;
  • CAE A;

If you have completed high school in a majority-English speaking country, then you don`t need to provide proof of your language skills.

BAU International University, Batumi applicants are offered to take the English Language exam “BAU Proficiency” if they have the required command of English but can’t provide any above-mentioned international language certificates. The minimum score for the BAU Proficiency exam should be 60. Dates of Examination will be provided to you by the student’s support center.

If you do not yet have level B2 English and are eligible to study in one of the programs at BAU Batumi, you can sign up for our English Preparatory School at the BAU Istanbul branch.

In addition to the study fees, we recommend calculating the following costs:

Accommodation – around 350 — 400 USD per month

we do not currently offer accommodation for students. Upon request, we will be happy to issue a list of websites that can get your search started. When looking for accommodation, please keep in mind the following advice to ensure you are not subject to fraud:

  • Do not transfer any money without seeing the room/ flat you want to rent and receiving the key
  • Check if you can register yourself to this address with the registry office (Bürgeramt). If not, then we would recommend not choosing this accommodation.
  • Try to speak to your future flatmates

FINANCING - SCHOLARSHIP

Students can earn funding only after enrollement in the univesrity based on their academic performance at the end of the semester, in particular if the GPA indicator is 91 and higher after the end of the semester they are eligible for 50% funding, which means a 50% reduction in tuition fees for the next semester.

The conditions can vary greatly between countries and even individuals, so it’s always better to go directly to the responsible authority for the most accurate, up to date information. BAU International University Batumi will provide a visa invitation letter once the application process has been completed, and you have secured your place by making your first payment.
